Lord Buddha said, “You should not follow my advice simply because I said so.” Whoever wishes to follow

the teachings has to go through the proper sequence of contemplations in order to make sure that what they are practicing is beneficial and meaningful. When someone goes through such training, one will never regret embracing the teachings of the Buddha. On the other hand, there are many who might blindly follow, but in the end, they may regret their decisions. In order to save all this trouble, it is important to examine artfully and ask questions in the beginning. But if we hold onto doubts even after we embrace the Buddha and his teachings then it shows that we are either not serious or our stubbornness and ignorance are shutting the door to liberation.
