A very warm welcome for Lama Sonam Rinchen, our Resident Lama at ZKBC Singapore
ZKBC (Singapore) is pleased to inform all devotees that Lama Bhutia Rinchen Wangchuk (aka Sonam Rinchen) has been appointed by H.E. the 12th Zurmang Gharwang Rinpoche, as the Resident Lama for ZKBC Singapore with effect from 3 July 2013.
Lama Sonam Rinchen holds a degree of Shastri (equivalent to Bachelor of Arts) 1st Division. He has a wealth of knowledge, having gone through mandatory rigorous formal training in Buddhist Philosophy, experience in pujas, rituals, use of musical instruments and torma making.
He had also completed a 3 year meditation retreat and is one of the few well qualified monks in Pal Karmae Zurmang Shedup Ch’o Khorling.
Lama Sonam Rinchen had also studied the yoga tantras viz kriya tantra, charyayoga, yoga and anuttarayoga which will enable him to conduct effective meditation classes.
Whilst in Pal Karmae Zurmang Shedup Ch’o Khorling he held the post of Secretary and is familiar & experienced in the handling of administration and finances of the Monastery.
In Singapore, Lama Sonam Rinchen will lead the daily practices of Mahakala Puja every evening at 5.00 pm and Green Tara Prayer every morning.
He will also be involved in institutional planning of the various programmes for the Centre.
