Deep in our hearts, we all have a natural and genuine sense of love and care,
which Buddhists call our "Buddha Nature." Due to external circumstances we might on occasion feel jealousy or anger. However, our true nature is unchanging and remains pure. It is like, for example, a piece of gold, which even when covered with dirt still retains its value. Therefore, we should always look within at our true nature and try not to allow our temporary destructive emotions to negatively affect the way we engage with others. This will enhance our lives making it more meaningful and beneficial.
