Buddhism promotes individuals' rights, and also encourages individuals to be better and happier in daily life. In this belief system, laws and rules are not imposed on a person.

It simply enlightens people with respect to how to avoid negative emotions and how to find an effective solution within. Because we seem to agree and accept every problem that we have, we tend to look somewhere for the solution. Buddhism believes that ninety percent of our problems are self-created, and poisons such as anger, jealousy, attachment, and ignorance are the main culprit of our pain. Thus, if we fail to address these problems within, then most likely we will never find a permanent cure from anywhere else. Therefore, we all have the right to eradicate poisons which bring us pain, and it is all up to us.
