As ordinary human beings, we do make mistakes. But if we are careful enough, then we can still make our lives brighter and more meaningful in the near future by correcting what we have done wrong.
However, if we make the same mistakes again and again, then we are only inviting more trouble. It shows that we have lost half the battle, and if we continue to take the same path, then our future will be bleak.
