Ignorance can lead us down a dangerous path in our lives because it causes us to seek only temporary relief from anxiety and pain,
which can result in more trouble in the long run. For instance, like a monkey that seems to be enjoying the surrounding views but sitting on the holy Stupa! Strictly speaking from a Buddhist perspective, the monkey is also engaging in a non-virtuous action. Therefore, in my opinion, we should not seek merely temporary, less worthy gains, because these are only short-lived. Seeking and working for something meaningful and beneficial in the long term is essential in our lives in order to bring lasting peace and happiness for both oneself and others.
