Since we were young, we are taught that wealth, fame, and power are the only things that can secure our future.

Based on this belief we are encourage to study hard and once we have graduated from university, we are then expected to work hard and earn lots of money thinking that this will bring us a happy life. However, in the process we tend to forget a few important things. First, from the very beginning of this process we are undergoing tremendous pressure which we may not even notice. Second, in striving for these wealth, fame, and power we miss the so many beautiful moments in our lives with our family and friends. Finally, even when we go through all these steps nothing is guaranteed, because the nature of things and even our own life is that it is impermanent. In my opinion, the day will come, when we realize that what we were hoping for is unrealistic and then we might try to go back to the past and enjoy every those moments of our lives, but we will find that this is not really possible because those moments are in the past. Therefore, it is important to realize that the life we have now is precious, and that in order to be happy, we do not have to possess so much. We simply have to be content with who we are and what we have now. There is no problem with working hard but we should work towards meaningful things and do so joyfully with others. This then will give our life purpose.
