This is to update you about our program in coming May at ZKBC Singapore (301 Guillemard Road, Singapore 399740, Tel:67440198)
 
Besides the usual Friday and Sunday prayers, we have included additional sessions for the Labour Day long weekend holidays so that you can have the opportunity to participate in meaningful activities that lead you along the path of Buddha's way.

Smoke Offering Prayers
 
Special food, medicinal & aromatic offerings are burned like incense and offered to Triple Gems and shared with all sentient beings. It is believed that such practise will purify sentient beings karma and if dedicated to deceased beings, will bring them to blessed rebirths.   
 
Sunday, 3 May 2015 
7am - Accepting 8 Precepts Ceremony  
9am - Recitation of various prayers
3pm - Praise to 21 Taras Prayers
 
To recapitulate the requirements of 8 Mahayana Precepts, participants need to observe pure conduct related to your vows for 24 hours:-
- avoid killing
- avoid stealing or taking without permission
- avoid sexual contact
- avoid lying and deceiving others
- avoid intoxicants (e.g. alcohol, drugs)
- avoid eating more than one meal and consume before noon (avoid black
foods such as meat, eggs, onions, garlics and radishes)
- avoid sitting on high expensive bed/seat with pride
- avoid wearing jewellry, perfume, and make-up. Avoid singing, dancing, or
playing music with attachment.
